Dr. Bruno Barbier,
Researcher at the CIRAD (International Center of Agronomic Research for Development ).
He obtained his Phd in rural economy from l’ENSAM (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Agriculture. Montpellier. France)in 1994.
He worked at IFPRI institute in Washington DC, then at CIAT Center in Honduras. He finally joined CIRAD in 2001 in the G-eau unit (Water Management Actors Usages). He is currently working in Africa , especially Senegal where he carried out research on the uses of water in the Senegal River Valley. His is specialized in economic evaluation of projects in the agricultural and water sector, particularly in economic modeling at watershed scale. Bruno Barbier has worked mainly in West and Central America’s projects.
Dr. Didier ORANGE - Senior Researcher, IRD, France
Didier Orange, ecohydrologist, has a PhD (1990) in Hydrogeochemistry from the University of Strasbourg (France)
an d a diploma of Engineer in Hydrogeology (1985) from the University of Orleans (France). He is currently posted
to Eco&Sols (IRD/CIRAD/INRA/SupAgro, Montpellier), research unit on functional ecology of soils and agroecosystems.
Didier Orange studies the ru noff generation in relationship with the landuse change under climate change scenarios
to promote the hydrological modelling as a tool of integrated management of water and soil resources. He deals mainly
with the impact of landscape, climate, agricultural practices and farmer strategies on water budget, erosion flux and
geochemical fluxes in the rivers.

Prof. Tommaso Moramarco - IRPI-Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche PERUGIA (ITALY)
Tommaso Moramarco took the degree in Civil Hydraulic Engineering at the University of Bari (Italy), in February 1989. He got two-years of Scholarship of the National Research Council (CNR) in flooding risk assessment, at the Institute of Advanced Methodologies of Environmental Analysis, from 1989 to 1991. He had several contracts with the University of Basilicata from 1991 to 1994 and he carried on an educational activity in Hydraulic Construction, advising students and co-directing thesis. He is currently a Senior Researcher with the Research Institute for Geo-Hydrological Protection (IRPI), CNR. Since 1989, he has been conducting research in the field of hydrological processes addressed to the flood forecasting and hydraulic risk mitigation. He has developed works in these areas producing a great number of contributions in the leading hydrologic and hydraulic journals. In particular, his works include hydro-meteorological monitoring, synthesis of the effects of spatial variability in hydraulic quantities and scaling, rainfall spatial distribution analysis, entropy theory applied to natural channels, modeling of overland flow over hillslopes, modeling of surface water over watersheds, flood forecasting, hydraulic risk, climate change, drought, safety of dams, artificial neural networks and genetic algorithm. He has directed PhD theses, M.Sc. theses and he has been tutor of research grants and scholarships working in the hydrology applied research areas. Since 2001, he has been playing a lead role in the hydrologic research at IRPI and he has been coordinator and scientific responsible of projects on hydro-meteorological monitoring, flood forecasting and hydraulic risk in the frame of Italian and European programs. He has advised authorities for establishing measures for flooding protection also addressed to the forward planning. He is a Referee of leading hydrologic and hydraulic journals and an Associate Editor of Journal of Hydrologic Engineering (JHE) and a Guest Editor of Hydrology and Earth System Science Journal (HESS) and WATER (MDPI). He is a member of several national and international associations.

Jose Miguel Sánchez - Pérez has a PhD (1992) in Hydrogeochemistry from the University of Strasbourg (France);
M.S. (1985) in Geology from the University of the Basque Country in Spain. He is currently a research director
assigned to ECOLAB, Laboratory (CNRS - Université Paul Sabatier - Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse)
in bio - geochemical functioning of buffers zones. José Miguel Sánchez - Pérez studies pollutant transport in
hydrologic systems, using extensive field data and modeling. He specializes in the functioning of wetlands,
riparian zones, and groundwater systems, with particular interests in the modeling of catchment scale pollutant transport,
to predict how ecosystem functions will change under various climate change scenarios.

His experience areas include hydrology, hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry, isotopes, groundwater - surface water interactions,
water resources modeling and management, GIS applications in water resources. He conducted/participated in a number of projects in
France and abroad related to water resources issues (France, Morocco, Algeria, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Tchad, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Sénégal, …).
Prof. Dr. Hafzullah Aksoy Istanbul Technical University Department of Civil Engineering Istanbul, Turkey
Prof. Dr. Hafzullah Aksoy studied Civil Engineering for his Bachelor degree in 1990 with Hydraulics and Water Resources as his field of expertise for the Master (1993) and PhD degrees (1998) all in Istanbul Technical University, Turkey.
He has been in Germany and USA for his post-doctoral studies. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2002 and Associate Professor in 2003 at the same department. He spent one year (2009) in Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt guest researcher .
His research topics range from statistical methods to process-based modelling techniques for rainfall-runoff-sediment transport in hydrological watersheds and rivers.
He has published numerous peer-review journal papers, made presentations in scientific meetings, supervised graduate thesis, coordinated research projects, and collaborated with the industry.
He has been awarded with the 2006 Best Paper and 2009 Best Discussion Awards of ASCE Journal of Hydrologic Engineering, and the 2011 Engineering Incentive Award of the Scientific and Technological Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
Prof. Aksoy is the Universities Representative to the National Hydrology Commission of Turkey. He served as Vice President (2007-2011), President Elect (2011-2013) and President (2013-2017) of International Commission of Surface Water (ICSW), International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS). He is currently Past President of the Commission to serve until 2019.
He worksas a professor of Hydrology and Water Resources at Hydraulics Unit of Civil Engineering Department in Istanbul Technical University, Turkey.
Prof. Dr. Hongwei FANG, Tsinghua University, China
His research concerns on calculation method for turbulent flow; turbulence modeling;
sediment transport; applications of the methods to a large variety of engineering and environmental
problem. He serve as editor-in-chief of International Journal of Sediment Research (IJSR), associate
editor of Journal of Hydraulic Engineering (JHE) ASCE, and council member of World Association for Sedimentation
and Erosion Research (WASER).
